This paper deals with the various methodological considerations for the documentation of semantic and pragmatic properties of Andead languages (Kichwa, Aymara). The emphasis is on the evidentiality and its relation in the marking of discursive elements. This work proposes different tests that allow to establish which are the properties of evidentials in these languages. Different scenarios are presented to capture detailed distinctions in regard to the use of evidential markers in discourse (e.g., to start conversations and to narrate stories).
