    She holds a Ph.D. in Sociolinguistics and a Master’s degree in Pedagogy, both from the University of Vienna, Austria. For the past 30 years, she has focused her academic activities on education, interculturality, natural and cultural diversity, knowledge dialogue, indigenous peoples, sustainable development, and cooperation in Latin America. She has published multiple books and academic articles on these topics. Since 2008, she has been a research professor at FLACSO Ecuador, where she coordinates the Interculturality Laboratory and is responsible for the specialization in Interculturality and Development. Currently, she also serves as the dean of the Department of Economics, Environment, and Territory at FLACSO Ecuador Headquarters.

    Intercultural dialogue for Ecuador’s Higher Education

     

    The presentation will show the results of the most recent research conducted in the field of interculturality at the level of Higher Education in Ecuador. It includes case studies from various universities in the Highlands, the Coast, and the Amazon regions. The discussion will focus on the challenges for the implementation of public policies, specifically for higher education institutes in the country.
